How to check Windows Update

Keeping your Windows operating system up to date is crucial for maintaining system security, stability, and performance. Microsoft regularly releases updates to address vulnerabilities, improve functionality, and fix bugs.

To check if Windows 11 is ready for your device, go to Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Update  and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it. 

Assuming your system meets the requirements, here's how you can check for Windows 11 updates:

• Open Windows Update Settings: Click on the Start button, then click on the Settings icon (gear-shaped) to open the Windows Settings window. 
• Access Windows Update Options: Inside the Windows Settings window, click on Windows Update in the left panel.
• Check for Updates: In the Windows Update window, click on the Check for updates button. Windows will now connect to Microsoft's servers to check for available updates, including Windows 11 updates if they are applicable to your system.
• Install Available Updates: If Windows 11 updates are available for your system, they will appear in the list of updates. Click on the Install button to begin installing the available updates.
• Restart Your Computer: Some updates may require a system restart to complete the installation. If prompted, click on Restart Now to restart your computer and finalize the update process.
