What is 2-Step Verification (2SV)?
2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your Google account. After entering your password, you verify your identity using a second method—like a code sent to your phone or a prompt from the Google app.
How to Activate 2-Step Verification
Step-by-Step Instructions

Sign in to Your Google Account
Enter your email and password.

Open Security Settings
On the left-hand menu, click Security
Scroll down to 2-Step Verification and click it.

Start Setup
Click Turn On 2-Step Verification
Re-enter your password if prompted.
Enter your phone number and click Next
Follow the prompts until you see the confirmation that you’re all set.

Sign in with Your Password One More Time
You will be asked for a code sent to your phone.
(Optional) Check Do not ask for the code again to mark this browser as trusted.
Tips
If you sign in from a new device or browser, or clear your browser cookies, a code will be required again.
You can add additional verification methods via your Google Account portal to enhance security.
